With the help of Dr. Ericson of the Olde Bedford Veterinary Clinic BCHS will be sponsoring rabies clinics at the following locations:
May 10, 2008 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Tractor Supply in Everett
July 19, 2008 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Cumberland Valley Fire Hall in Centerville
August 2, 2008 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Bedford County Humane Society in Everett
September 13, 2008 from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Chaneysville Fire Hall in Chaneysville
Bedford, PA, December 4, 2007- Bedfords Wal-Mart Distribution Center associates presented the Bedford County Humane Society with a $500 grant today. Bedford County Humane Society plans to use the funds to help spay and neuter pets to control, the pet population. The donation was made by Wal-Mart as part of the company's community grant program.
"Our associates were excited to make this donation to such a worthwhile cause," said Tom Burchfield, Distribution Center manager. "The money will be utilized for programs in the local community that we are glad to support. This is just a small part of Wal-Mart's ongoing commitment to the communities in which we operate.
With more than 90 percent of its charitable giving targeted at local communities, cash donations through Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. and the Wal-Mart & SAM'S CLUB Foundation exceeded a record $300 million in 2006. Of this total amount, $70 million was given through the community grant program to help support local organizations large and small, from schools, YMCA and other youth programs, fire departments, libraries and more.
