Ways you can volunteer
Furever Homes:
Help assist the public in completing adoption applications and provide support to adoption counselors. Show potential adopters to the kennels and cat rooms to help them find their perfect match. Make follow up phone calls to new pet owners.
Doggie Kennels - Cat/Kitten Attendant:
Walk and play with the dogs - they rely on volunteers for needed exercise and human contact. Play with and brush the cats making sure they don't forget what it's like to be held.
Photo Team Member:
Have a digital camera? Help us help put our animals on the web. Take pictures of adoptable animals to be posted on the BCHS website, Petfinder, and other websites.
Dog Bather:
When you look pretty, you act pretty. That goes for our furry friends too. Clean dogs are more attractive to prospective owners and the attention they get from their groomers is much needed.
Mobile Adoption Team Member:
Go out in to the community to showcase our adoptable animals at places such as Tractor Supply.
Administrative Assistance:
Assist shelter and administrative staff with mail outs, phone calls, making adoption bags, data entry, and more.
Join our fundraising committee:
Our fundraising committe is very energetic and does a lot of great things to help secure much needed funds to help care for the animals. We actually have a great time while we work.
